Descended from the unions of gods and mortals, the children of two Hemtaoi - pure-bloods - have godlike powers. The children of Hematoi and mortals . . . not so much. Half-bloods have two options: to train as Sentinels, and hunt daimons, or to serve in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may not have a choice. Students at the academy are bound by strict rules, most of which Alex has problems with. And none more so than rule one: relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. When gorgeous, pure-blooded Aiden takes her under his wing, Alex knows she's in trouble. But Aiden isn't her biggest problem: staying alive long enough to graduate and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
